This virtual exhibit melds science and art to create extraordinary images of brains – from high-resolution images of real brains from different species to artistic portraits crafted out of brain cells. Viewers can look at high-resolution images of octopi, zebra finches, mice, turtle, and human brains, as well as original artwork inspired by brains.

While our doors are temporarily closed in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing measures, Flushing Town Hall shares our renowned, global arts programming online. Flushing Town Hall’s master Teaching Artists offer free, online classes in our second series of “FTH at HOME: Global Arts for Global Kids.” Each day school students and families will enjoy arts education videos of music, dance, visual arts, and storytelling, followed by post-video enrichment. Global Arts for Global Kids series II will begin on October 5, 2020, on FTH’s website. You can also explore the previous series of Global Arts for Global Kids at the same link for a limited time. Led by Carol Sudhalter and our wonderful house band, our Jazz Jam musicians from Queens, as well as others from around the world will be sharing their music to lift our spirits and honor those we have lost. Ever wonder how comics get made, or what it takes to make a great comic? We might guide you to the answer! QHS proudly presents a brand new summer workshop:𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮: 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙘 𝙉𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙨.

Come to create a comic about yourself! We want you to connect with your past through comics and art, to learn all the techniques needed to create their own graphical story though the art of comics. Taught by a professional comic book artist, you will tell the story of yourself and what makes you ‘you’!

Meeting Thursday and Friday afternoons for 5 weeks, students will take 2-hour lessons on the art of storytelling taught by Greg Renaud, a Queens local artist who has been focusing on illustration and cartoons. Techniques such as paneling, dialog, action, motion, and setting will be complemented with how culture and history can be used to tell a story.

Tell Every Amazing Lady® is holding its 12th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run 100% virtually on Saturday, September 12th, 2020, at 10:00am.
September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The annual event is held every September to celebrate the courage of ovarian cancer survivors and the strength of the families who have been touched by the disease, while spreading awareness to the public and raising money for research. Due to the ongoing situation caused by COVID-19, the Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run will be 100% virtual this year. Participants can register as virtual walkers or runners, and can join us from anywhere.

The cost to register is $20 to $40, depending on package choice.

From humble beginnings, he graduated from the High School of Performing Arts, made his theater debut at 18, and gained prominence for his performances in the original Broadway productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, for which he received a Tony Award nomination and Pippin for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His film credits include Funny Lady and All That Jazz and starred in numerous television programs including Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Nanny, Law & Order and is well known for the role of “Chicken” George Moore in Alex Haley’s landmark TV miniseries Roots for which he received an Emmy nomination.
