“Four Seasons” is a fusion of classical and traditional Chinese aesthetic genres (poetry, music, dance, opera and puppetry) with contemporary shadow theater technique. Conceived and created by the award-winning ensemble, Chinese Theatre Works, it is a vivid, living animation that transcends language and cultural barriers and celebrates the universal cycles of seasons and life passages.

Toddlers and caregivers enjoy some special time together as they socialize with other youngsters and learn about nature. Each class focuses on a different science theme and includes live animal guests, art projects, trail walks, and children’s literature. Limited to 8 participants with ONE adult per child. Bayside Historical Society will hold its 18th Annual Winter Art Show at its home in the Castle in Fort Totten Park, January 13-27, 2019. The show will feature work produced by Queens-based artists, primarily from northeast Queens. Attendees can expect to find a variety of artistic styles and mediums, including representational painting, abstract painting, drawing, mixed media and photography.
The Opening Reception on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00pm, will include the awards ceremony, gallery talk, and refreshments. The exhibit and reception are open to the public. Viewing hours for the duration of the exhibit will be Thursday & Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday & Sunday, noon until 4:00 pm. Admission is $5.00 per person, or free for BHS members.

NYC Talent Show is the world’s greatest open stage and a real New York City Tradition. It’s a decade old art performance show started at Bowery Poetry Club by Diane O’Debra and Victor Varnado where anyone can walk on stage whether they are a first time performer or a seasoned veteran and get treated like a star. A star that leaves the stage when bellman’s bell is rung telling them that their time on stage is over.
Performers on the show have included Kristen Schaal, Hannibal Buress, Jim Gaffigan, and Jonathan Aimes.
