King Jr. Following the bombing of Malcolm X’s home Malcolm and Martin meet in a room inside the historic Theresa Hotel. This riveting play deals with issues that are still relevant today: war, poverty, racism, and the need for Black self-empowerment. They were two men with different ideologies, but a common understanding of the plight of Black Americans.
Families are invited to join Bayside Historical Society at the Castle in Fort Totten Park for a fun afternoon of Valentine crafts, activities, and snacks. Stephen R. Barney, Jr. is a retired Director, Information Technology for New York City; computer scientist, musician, and author. An episode of the Oprah Winfrey show about genealogy first inspired his journey to discover more about his family. His efforts resulted in tracing his family in Queens back to the late 1700s. Bayside Historical Society welcomes author Stephen R. Barney, Jr. for a presentation and book signing for “The Barneys of Flushing Meadows.” Cost is free for BHS members and $5.00 for non-members.
