The theater world is abuzz with the incredible success of the Yiddish language production of Fiddler On the Roof (Fidler Afn Dakh), directed by Joel Grey, musical direction by Zalmen Mlotek. Aside from his masterful role as the musical director, Zalmen Mlotek was one of the visionary forces who made this theatrical “miracle of miracles” come to be. The world of Yiddish song is indeed magical in its role in Jewish life throughout the past 2 centuries. Zalmen Mlotek’s Magical World of Yiddish Song is an enriching, enlightening and highly entertaining program, with Mr. Mlotek at the piano and fantastic singers. Now, with the highly successful Fiddler Afn Dakh, a new chapter is added to this rich cultural history. Sponsored in part by Speaker Cory Johnson & the NYC Queens Delegation.
