Witches of Old New York: A Talk for Women's History Month @ QED Astoria | New York | United States

Journey back in time to learn about the women who were considered “witches” in pre-twentieth century New York. Learn about New York City’s only witch trial, and the witches who inhabited Broome Street (no joke here) and many other enclaves of downtown. These women were fortunetellers, and their practice allowed them to make money and maintain autonomy in their business practices. In this talk, you’ll become acquainted with the methods and lifestyles of these infamous “witches” and the peculiar biography of the man who tried to frame them.
