Queens writers Jé Wilson and Ananda Lima will read from their latest work. Ridgewood resident Jé Wilson was born in Canada and has lived in New York — mostly in Queens — for 13 years. Her essays and a story have recently appeared in The Public Domain Review and The Halloween Review. Past work has appeared in Lichen, Books in Canada, The Globe and Mail, and others. Ananda Lima’s work has appeared in The American Poetry Review,, The Kenyon Review Online, Colorado Review, Rattle, Jubilat, The Common and elsewhere. She has an MA in Linguistics from UCLA and an MFA in Creative Writing in Fiction from Rutgers University, Newark. She has served as the poetry judge for the AWP Kurt Brown Prize, as staff at the Sewanee Writers Conference and as a mentor in the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Immigrant Artist Program. Her chapbook, Translation (Paper Nautilus, 2019), won the 2018 Vella Chapbook Contest. MC and Kew Gardens resident Mary Lannon has stories published at New World Writing and Story and her story “A Key to Catastrophe Management” was a finalist for the 2019 Iron Horse Literary Review Trifecta Contest. At work on a second novel, she is looking for a publishing home for her first novel. She teaches writing at Nassau Community College.
