The Ecuadorian American Cultural Center invites you to discover the richness and diversity of Ecuador in a night that will highlight the customs and traditions of the communities from the Coast, Andes, and Amazon regions. More than thirty artists from its program Ayazamana Dance Group will take the audience on an imaginary trip to Ecuador through their vibrant dances and colorful costumes.

The annual performance titled “Ayazamana: Traditional Music and Dances from Ecuador” will highlight the customs and traditions of the communities from the Coast, Andes, and Amazon regions. More than thirty artists will take the audience on an imaginary trip to this South American country through their vibrant dances and colorful costumes. Accompanied by live music by Andes Manta, Ayazamana will perform exclusive choreographies to various traditional rhythms such as Fandango, Bomba, San Juanito, Amorfinos and Capishca.

Under the direction of Jose Rivera, this year the dance group will present new choreographies as well as bring back some of the audience’s longtime favorites. Ayazamana will be debuting a traditional wedding ceremony and celebration you can only encounter in the Andean communities near Otavalo. It will also be introducing the audience to Amorfinos or poetic short compositions of popular origin in the Manabí province.
