It’s in Queens
#PickoftheWeek | Visit the tourism kiosk at the U.S. Open
Tennis fans will enjoy smashing aces, grueling baseline duels, nerve-wracking tiebreakers…and local restaurants, hotels, and cultural venues during this year’s U.S. Open.
For the sixth year in a row, the USTA has donated an informational tourism kiosk to the Queens Tourism Council and the Queens Chamber of Commerce for the entire tournament, which runs through Sept. 10 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Seen at the booth on Wednesday, Sept. 23, are (from left) Queens Chamber Business Development Manager Brendan Leavy, NYC Department of Corrections Director of Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement Fabrice Armand, USTA Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel Andrea Hirsch, USTA Executive Director and COO Gordon Smith, Assemblyman Jeffrion L. Aubry, Community Board 4 Chair Damian Vargas, QTC Director Rob MacKay, Queens Chamber Manager of Committee Development & Member Engagement Brett Swanson, Community Board 4 District Manager Christian Cassagnol, Borough President Melinda Katz, Queens Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Seth Bornstein, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman, and Queens Chamber Community Outreach Liaison Virginia Ferreira.
