#NewsFlash | Free Lunch at the ‘Dine In Queens 2017’ Kick Off on Oct. 10
BY QEDC It's In Queens
With local establishments offering free samples of their cuisine, the Queens Tourism Council will kick off its annual eating extravaganza, Dine In Queens 2017, at The Shops at Atlas Park in Glendale on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at noon. (Please note that this promotion used to be called “Queens Restaurant Week.”)
As of press time, the confirmed eateries are Bauche Colombian Restaurant, Corato Pizza II, Fishscales, Joe & John Pizzeria, La Choza del Gordo, Matiz Restaurant, Ridgewood Ale House, Tienda Vieja, and Trattoria Cerbone, but as many as 12 establishments are expected to participate.
In addition to the free lunch, attendees will be able to take photos and chat with bistro owners, event sponsors, event organizers, and elected officials.
More than 100 restaurants — including new places like Matiz in Forest Hills and Sushi Fusion in Flushing as well as old favorites such as Bayside’s Bourbon Street and O Lavrador in Jamaica — will participate in this 14th annual food fest. To take place from Oct. 16 through Nov. 2, most establishments will offer three-course, prix fixe meals for $28, but specials might vary. (For example, some might proffer appetizer/entrée/dessert combinations, while others might go with entrée/dessert/glass of wine.) Also, some places will offer $14 lunch specials.
The Queens Tourism Council is currently creating a list of Dine in Queens restaurants here. It is not complete as establishments are currently signing up, but it is frequently updated.
Editor’s note: If the weather is inclement, the kick off event will be cancelled.
