Students of all ages and education levels are invited to a free STEM Expo Night at the New York Hall of Science on Friday, May 19, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about — and explore — summer opportunities, internships, and careers in STEM. Register online.

Tim Kubart & The Space Cadets sing about adventures at Flushing Town Hall on May 20 at 2:15 pm. They weave childhood memories via textured pop tunes with lyrics that bridge the gap between innocence and wisdom in a way that listeners of all ages can appreciate. Interactive arts workshop at 1 pm.

After a great opening weekend, The Miracle Worker returns to Queens Theatre for more shows. In this play, dedicated teacher Annie Sullivan struggles to reach a young Helen Keller, the blind/deaf author and political activist who lived in Forest Hills for more than 20 years. Sullivan realizes that she must also struggle with a domineering father, a heartbroken mother, and a resentful brother. Remaining shows are May 18 at 2 pm; May 20 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and May 21 at 3 pm.

Don’t miss top comic Myq Kaplan from America’s Got Talent at the Guess What Comedy Show at The Creek & Cave in LIC on Saturday, May 20. This is a family-friendly, PG performance. Seating begins at 12:30 pm, and the show starts at 1 pm. Free admission, brunch available.

Bring the little ones to Storytime and a Craft at the Queens Botanical Garden for a reading of Oh Say Can You Seed by Bonnie Worth followed by a seed maraca craft on Saturday, May 20, from 2 pm to 3 pm. Free with admission.

Plan ahead for the Queens Book Festival at the LIC Landing by COFFEED on May 27-28. This two-day festival connects authors and readers through experiences that celebrate literacy, the culture of ideas, and imagination. Events include panel discussions, author conversations, book-signings, and workshops. May 27 is dedicated to children and youth with various authors and illustrators showcasing their work. Youngsters can take part in various recreational and STEAM activities, too.
