Over 60 participating businesses will be offering their discounts through this year’s coupon book, from restaurants to retailers, beauty services to professional services.

This April, City Parks Foundation is kicking off its 2019 Spring sports programs for young people living in Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, or Manhattan. CityParks Track & Field, presented in partnership with New York Road Runners and supported by the Randall’s Island Park Alliance, gives New York City kids, ages eight to 14, the chance to learn the basics of the sport. From hurdles and relay races, to long jump, shot put and javelin throw, this program runs from April 20 through June 8 in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens, with sessions once per week. The Jesse Owens Track and Field program introduces novice runners to cross country distance running through runs from East Harlem to Randall’s Island Park. This program runs from April 7 – June 23 in Manhattan, and is held once per week. Online registration is now open for all spring programs at CityParksFoundation.org/play. Participants are encouraged to register online in advance, though walk-up participants may register on-site if space permits. Soon-to-beeenvironmentalists and their grown-ups are invited out to Queens Farm for an afternoon to celebrate Earth Day on Monday, April 22. The Bee A Pollinator Program will feature bee talks in the farm’s apiary and a tractor-drawn hayride. It will also include beeswax candle-making and a seed ball project to grow your own wildflowers and food for honey bees. At 3:30 pm the farm will transplant six American Chestnut Trees in cooperation with the American Chestnut Foundation in a ceremony on the farm’s grounds. Admission includes a 10% off coupon in our Farm Store. Refreshments will be available for sale, as well as fresh alfalfa to feed our goats.

The Central Astoria LDC and NYC Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer proudly present the “Spring Break Fun at Rainey Park” event on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 from 12-3 pm at Rainey Park located on Vernon Boulevard & 34th Avenue. This free event is open to the general public and will feature canvas painting, splatter painting, face painting, balloon art, a spring-themed puppet show, an interactive children’s musical performance, a fun kids magic show and free popcorn giveaway.
